GSoC 2008
GSoC 2009

It has been a long time since I wrote. I have become very irregular these days. Hope I get some time to make blog posts again. Thanks to Google Summer of Code 2009, I wish to make a post for each and every milestone I reach this summer, at least because I can read them back as logs whenever I want to recollect my GSoC experience.

Let this post become Milestone 0 :D

Since I had already participated in Google Summer of Code 2008, I had made up my mind to become a mentor this year. Also I started contrubuting to Google's Open Source project called Melange, the web app that runs GSoC from this year. But unfortunately some developments made me to change my decision and to take up this summer of code as student (and of course one of them being want of some money for higher education).

I made this plan in February but unfortunately could not work on any FOSS project at then, which is was really crucial, if I had to get thru this year's GSoC. Thanks to VTU! and indeed HP Paper. But after I got some time for myself, I made some plans. As I was already working with people at Melange I thought of applying to Melange. Also as back up I planned to apply for Django and Mercurial.

The reason for this was basically because, I was scared of people at Melange. I had not done any work for Melange in the very crucial of the situations. It was that time when Sverre, Lennie, and Pawel had a lot of hard work to do. So I was a bit hesitant to talk to these guys initially.

This is how Google Summer of Code 2009 all started for me. I will write more about it in subsequent posts.

P.S: I had some of these posts written as and when it happened, I had not published it, since I wanted to make everything public after my selection :P
So I am re-organizing few things and publishing these on the right timeline :D
